A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
PARKLAND, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PIGGYBACK OF
THE FLORIDA SHERIFFS ASSOCIATION & FLORIDA
ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES CONTRACT FSA20-VEF14.0 FOR
FIRE RESCUE AND OTHER VEHICLES, FOR FIRE STATION
#109 ENGINE REPLACEMENT, IN THE AMOUNT OF $811,309
TO TEN-8 FIRE & SAFETY, LLC; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Parkland (City) desires to piggyback the Florida Sheriffs
Association & Florida Association of Counties (Florida Sheriffs Association) Contract FSA20-
VEF14.0 for Fire Rescue and Other Vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the contract was competitively solicited by the Florida Sheriffs Association,
through ITB No. FSA20-VEF14.0, allowing other authorized government entities like the City of
Parkland to become a participating entity; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with City Ordinance Code, Section 2-143.9.(3) Exempt
Purchases, states the City may "piggyback" any currently authorized government agencies and/or
not for profit purchasing cooperative contract; and the Code further requires the City Commission
to approve contracts exceeding $50,000 per year or$150,000 on a multi-year basis; and
WHEREAS, staff is requesting approval to piggyback the Florida Sheriffs Association
contract through the awarded vendor, Ten-8 Fire and Safety, LLC; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Station #109 engine replacement has been approved as part of the
Fiscal Year 2022 Capital Replacement Fund; and
WHEREAS, staff identified the need for a Pierce® multi purpose response vehicle,
Custom Impel PUC Pumper#808, in the total amount of$811,309; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission hereby determines it to be in the best interest of the
residents of the City of Parkland to approve the piggyback of the Florida Sheriffs Association
Contract No. FSA20-VEF14.0 through the awarded vendor, Ten-8 Fire & Safety, LLC, for the
Fire Station#109 Engine Replacement.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF PARKLAND, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The above referenced "Whereas" clauses are true and correct and made a
part hereof.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Parkland hereby approves the
piggyback of the Florida Sheriffs Association Contract FSA20-VEF14.0 for the purchase of a
Pierce®multi-purpose response vehicle, Custom Impel PUC Pumper#808, in the total amount of
$811,309.
Section 3. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. That appropriate City officials are authorized to do all things necessary and
expedient to carry of the aims of this Resolution.
Section 5. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
