HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-46 Appreciation of City Manager Harry J. Mertz RESOLUTION NO. 99 - 46 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND, FLORIDA, HONORING CITY MANAGER HARRY J. MERTZ FOR ms LEADERSHIP, DEDICATION, AND LOYALTY TO THE ELECTED OFFICIALS, CITY ATTORNEY, CITY STAFF, AND THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND WHEREAS, Harry J. Mertz has dutifully served the City of Parkland for over a decade as one of the longest tenured City Managers in Broward County; and WHEREAS, Mr. Mertz has shown his abilities of effective leadership with style, class, and grace to assure that the positive image of the City be forthright in his every decision; and WHEREAS, Mr. Mertz has proven time and again that the call of public service is a worthy one yielding pride, personal and professional integrity, loyalty, and good leadership to the staff that he has so capably directed for eleven years; and WHEREAS, his intelligence, resourcefulness, high moral standards, and ethics have guided the City Commission to adhere to the highest level of professional standards of public service for the overall betterment of the community in which they and he serve; and WHEREAS, the quality of growth and the lifestyle of the City of Parkland established over the years during Mr. Mertz's distinguished service is an attestation to the quality leadership that he has provided to the City; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND, FLORIDA, THAT: Section 1. Harry J. Mertz is publicly thanked and appreciated by this City Commission, his City Attorney and City staff, these citizens, and his dear and devoted friends for his many long and unselfish hours of dedication "and loyal friendship" to us. Section 2. This City staff which has worked so diligently and loyally under Mr. Mertz's helm in an atmosphere filled with love and devotion to him will continue to do so because we know how truly lucky we are to have worked in such a positive environment borne only by Mr. Mertz's presence among us. Section 3. The Mayor, City Commissioners, City Attorney, City staff, and the citizens of Parkland express our genuine affection, warmest appreciation, and sincerest gratitude to Mr. Harry J.
