1999-41 Support Candidacy of Mayor Alex Fekete for 2nd VP of FLOC RESOLUTION 99-41 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING PEMBROKE PINES MAYOR ALEX F AKETE FOR THE OFFICE OF SECOND VICE PRESIDENT OF THE FLORIDA LEAGUE OF CITIES WHEREAS, Alex Fakete has served as a Pembroke Pines City Commissioner, Vice Mayor, and Mayor since 1995; and WHEREAS, Mayor Alex Fakete has served six years on the Board of Directors of the Florida League of Cities, and seven years on the Broward League of Cities with an outstanding term as President in 1996 - 1997; and WHEREAS, Mayor Alex Fakete has served the greater Broward County area with active participation in the Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club, the South Broward Hospital District Board, the Boy Scouts Executive Board, and as a member of Senator Bob Grahams ' s Military Academy Appointment Committee; and WHEREAS, Mayor Alex Fakete is widely known for his continuing efforts and contributions to outstanding local government through innovation, professionalism, and dedication to his City, his constituents, and the organizations he leads; and WHEREAS, Mayor Alex Fakete has announced his candidacy for the office of Second Vice President of the Florida League of Cities, and the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Parkland, Florida, unanimously endorse and support his candidacy; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND, FLORIDA, THAT Section 1: The Elected Officials and citizens of the City of Parkland, Florida, strongly endorse the candidacy of Mayor Alex Fakete for the Office of Second Vice President for the Florida League of Cities. Section 2: Our long time association with Mayor Fakete for the common good of quality government in Broward County and Florida brings pride and enthusiasm for Mayor Fakete's candidacy. Section 3: A copy of this Resolution is to be sent to the Florida League of Cities Nominating Committee, members of the Florida League of Cities Board of Directors, and to such other persons as may have an interest in this matter.
