1998-44 Zoning in Progress-Reg Outparcels on Commercial Property RESOLUTION NO.: 98 - 44 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND, FLORIDA, DECLARING ZONING IN PROGRESS WITH REGARD TO REGULATION OF OUT PARCELS AND PLACING ALL PARTIES ON NOTICE THAT THE CITY WILL BE CONSIDERING ADDITIONAL REGULATIONS ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF OUT PARCELS ON COMMERCIAL PROPERTY WITIDN THE CITY OF PARKLAND DURING THE NEXT 120 DAYS AND THAT ALL PERSONS WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH ANY REGULATIONS SO ADOPTED, WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Parkland believes that it is necessary to review its regulations regarding out parcels to assure that any such parcels are developed in a proper fashion, consistent with the City's image, Comprehensive Plan, and desires, goals, and objectives for the appearance and functioning of the City and compatibility with neighboring properties; and WHEREAS, the City will conduct a study and consider legislation during the next 120 days for this purpose; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. All persons are hereby placed on notice that the City of Parkland shall be considering additional regulations on the development of out parcels on commercial property within the City of Parkland during the next 120 days, Any legislation adopted during that period shall be binding on all persons presently seeking development permits, or applying for development permits during this period. All development permits issued during this period shall be issued with the condition that the permit be consistent with any regulations adopted during this 120 day period. Further, if deemed necessary by the City Commission, when considering any such permit, the Commission may,delay action on said permit until such time as the 120 day period has elapsed to RESOLUTION NO. 98-44 determine the precise nature of the regulations approved. This shall not constitute a moratorium, or in any way prohibit any party from applying for the development of out parcels and for the Planning Department or Planning and Zoning Board to consider a proposal for development of out parcels, but, shall be construed to require any such application to be consistent with any regulations duly adopted by the City Commission during this 120 day period. Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized to advertise a copy of this Resolution in the legal section of a newspaper of general circulation in Broward County on two (2) occasions within twenty (20) days after the adoption of this Resolution.
