HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-27 Request Equestrian Center at Temple Park not be Contained w/i Dyked Area of NSID RESOLUTION NO. 96-27 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING EXECUTING APPROVAL LETTER WITH GEE & JENSON, :ENGINEERS, REQUESTING THAT THE EQUESTRIAN ., . ' ' , CENTER AT TEMPLE PARK NOT BE CONTAINED WITHIN THE DYKED AREA OF THE NORm SPRINGS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of Parkland has requested that the North Springs Improvement District boundary dyke be located south and west of the Equestrian Center at Temple Park; and WHEREAS, Gee & Jenson, Engineers-Architects-Planners, Inc, , has asked the Parkland City Commission to execute a letter stating they are requesting that the city park project located at the east end of the relocated Holmberg Road not be contained within the dyked area of the North Springs Improvement District. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City of Parkland approves executing such letter of 'approval with Gee & Jenson, Engineers-Architects-Planners, Inc, Section 2. The City of Parkland Engineering Department finds no adverse impact as a result of signing this acknowledgment since the Equestrian Center at Temple Park slab is at elevation 18,0 and the North Springs Improvement District dyke is at elevation 16,5, Section 3. RE: North Springs Improvement District Dear Mr. DaBrusco: It has been brought to my attention that the City of Parkland has requested that the city park project located at the east end of the relocated Holmberg Road not be contained within the diked area of the North Springs Improvement District. If this is true it is our opinion that we must notify you that flood protection is not being afforded to the city property and the District cannot assume any liability for flooding of the property. If it is the city's desire not to be contained within the diked area of the District I am requesting that you acknowledge that position by executing this letter in the space provided below.
