HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-56 Dept of Community Affairs Delegate Sufficiency Review of Comp Plan EAR Rept RESOLUTION 95-56 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND, FLORIDA REQUESTING THAT THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS DELEGATE SUFFICIENCY REVIEW OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND COMPREHENSIVE PLAN EVALUATION AND APPRAISAL REPORT TO THE SOUTH FLORIDA REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL. WHEREAS, on November 21, 1990, the City of Parkland adopted its Comprehensive Plan pursuant to the requirements of Chapter 163, Part II, Florida Statutes, which is otherwise known as the "Local Government Comprehensive Planning and Development Regulation Act", ("the Act''); and WHEREAS, the City of Parkland is preparing the Evaluation and Appraisal Report on its Comprehensive Plan pursuant to the requilements of the Act and the requirements of Rules 9J-5 and 9J-33, Florida Administrative Code; and WHEREAS, the Act defines the states land planning agency as the Florida Department of Community Affairs ("the Department''); and WHEREAS, Section 163.3191 (10) of the Act provides that the state land planning agency may delegate the review of reports to the appropriate regional planning council; and WHEREAS, the Department has entered into a contract with the South Florida Regional Planning Council (''the Council") to delegate the authority to the Council to provfde sufficiency reviews of Evaluation and Appraisal Reports pursuant to a written request from a local governing body and approved by a majority of its membership; and WHEREAS, the City of Parkland desires that its Evaluation and Appraisal Report be reviewed for sufficiency pursuant to Rule 9J-5, Florida Administrative Code by the South Florida Regional Planning Council; and NOW,. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Parkland does hereby requests that the Florida Department of Community delegate the sufficiency review of the City of Parkland's Evaluation and Appraisal Report on its Comprehensive Plan to the South Florida Regional Planning Council pursuant to Section 163.3191(10), Florida Statutes, PASSED AND ADOPTED ON TIllS THE 15 DAY OF NOVEMBER . 1995, ~A~ ATTEST: ~~c:~ SUSAN ARMSTRONG, CMC, q Y CLERK
