RESOLUTION NO. 94 - 14
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF PARKLAND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE AT
WHICH THE OWNERS OF PROPERTY IN THE RANCHES
SUBJECT TO THE ASSESSMENTS PROVIDED FOR IN
RESOLUTION NO. 94 - 02 AND OTHER PERSONS
INTERESTED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE GOVERNING
BODY WHICH SHALL SIT AS A EQUALIZATION
BOARD TO HEAR COMPLAINTS AND ADJUST ASSESS-
MENTS
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 170, Florida Statutes, the City
Commission of the City of Parkland adopted Resolution 94 - 02 provid-
ing for the assessment for drainage improvements in the area known
the Ranches in the City of Parkland; and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications with estimated costs of the
proposed improvements are on file as is a preliminary assessment
roll,
as
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
OF PARKLAND, AS FOLLOWS:
CITY
Section 1. The City of Parkland does hereby call a meeting of
the City of Parkland Commission to sit as an Equalization Board to
hear complaints and adjust assessments pursuant to the provisions of
Section 170.08, Florida Statutes. At said meeting the City Commis-
sion shall hear complaints with regard to the assessments and shall
adjust and equalize the assessments on the basis of justice and
right. Once so equalized and approved by a resolution or ordinance
of the governing body, a final asssessment roll shall be filed with
the governing authority of the municipality and such assessments
shall stand confirmed and remain legal, valid and binding first lien
upon the property and upon which such assessments are made until
paid.
Section 2. Upon completion of the improvements, the municipali-
ty shall credit to each of the assessments the difference in the
assessment as originally made, approved, and confirmed and the propor-
tionate part of the actual cost and the improvement to be paid by
special assessments as finally determined upon the completion of the
improvement, but in no event shall the final assessments exceed the
amount of benefits originally assessed.

Section 3. The meeting of the City Commission to sit as a Board
of Equalization shall be held on May 18, 1994 The meeting
shall commence on 7:00 P.M. and continue until completed. The
meeting shall be at the City of Parkland City Hall, 6500 Parkside
Drive, Parkland, Florida.
Notice shall be provided by the City Clerk pursuant to provisions of
Section 170.07, Florida Statutes (1993).
