The City, of Parkland does hereby request that the Broward County Planning Council amend its Trafficways Plan to eliminate Riverside Drive, north of Holmberg Road from the Trafficways Plan. The City would request that Broward County Planning Council process this amendment at the earliest possible time, as the continued existence of Riverside Drive as a Broward County Trafficway poses a hardship on the City of Parkland and its residents. Construction of Riverside Drive in its present configura- tion north of Holmberg Road as a Broward County Trafficway is not feasible. Continuing to keep the present right-of-way, north of Holmberg Road, promotes confusion in the planning process in that it presents the misleading impression that a County road will be constructed north of Holmberg Road along the right-of-way of River- side Drive. It also imposes financial obligations which are unreal- istic. Section 2. The City of Parkland does hereby state its intent to use the right-of-way of Riverside Drive, north of Holmberg Road, as a thoroughfare for pedestrians and horses as a multi-purpose trail and for access by emergency vehicles. Resolution NO. 93 - 2, Page 2 Section 3. A certified copy of this Resolution shall be transmitted to the Broward County Planning Council and the appropri- ate City of Parkland staff are hereby authorized to undertake all necessary steps to secure the elimination from the Riverside Drive, north of Holmberg Road from the Broward County Trafficways Plan.
