1992-36 City Urging Broward Cty Planning Council to Reactivate Amendments-Broward Cty Land Use Plan VOID RESOLUTION 92 - 36 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND URGING THE BROWARD COUNTY PLANNING COUNCIL TO RE-ACTIVATE CERTAIN AMENDMENTS TO THE BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN. WHEREAS, the City of Parkland desires to locate commercial land uses within the City; and WHEREAS, the Broward County Planning Council staff recommended that certain Amendments to the Broward County Land Use Plan not be transmitted to the Florida Department of Communi ty Affairs until the realignment of Pine Island Road/Nob Hill Road, has been finalized; and WHEREAS, on June 17, 1992, based on the recommendations from the Broward County Planning Council staff, the City Commission of the City of Parkland delayed action on Amendments to the City of Parkland Land Use Plan pending approval by the Broward County Planning Council of the proposed realignment of Pine Island Road/Nob Hill Road; and WHEREAS, the Broward County Planning Council will be holding a Public Hearing approving the realignment of Pine Island Road/Nob Hill Road as requested by the City of Parkland; and WHEREAS, the County Land Use Plan Amendments, as shown in Exhibit "A", should be re-activated by the Broward County Planning Council, so that following the realignment of Pine Island Road/Nob Hill Road, these Anlendments can be transmi tted to the Florida Department of Community Affairs. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission: SECTION 1 - The City Commission urges the Broward County Planning Council to reactivate the amendments to the Broward County Land Use Plan as shown in the attached Exhibit "A" for transmittal to the Florida Department of Community Affairs at the earliest opportunity. The purpose of this Resolution is to request that the Broward County Planning Council re-activate the pending Broward County Land Use Amendments for the commercial land uses along the pine Island/Nob Hill Road corridor. These amendments were set aside by the Broward County Planning Council staff pending the Council's action on the proposed traff icways, for which action is now imminent. The Broward County Planning Council has established a November 1st deadline for consideration of amendments that will be processed in the next round. william W.
