HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-08 Amendment to Land Dev Code Regarding "Parklike" SettingRESOLUTION NO. 91 — 8 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND DECLARING THAT AN AMENDMENT TO THE LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND HAS BEEN AUTHORIZED WITH REGARD TO REQUIRING ALL DEVELOPMENT, TO HAVE A "PARKLIKE" SETTING, PROVIDING THAT ANY DEVELOPMENT PERMITS FILED AS OF THE DATE OF THIS RESOLUTION SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE REGULATIONS TO BE ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION RELATING TO "PARKLIKE" AND THAT NO DEVELOPMENT PERMIT SHALL BE FINALLY APPROVED WHICH HAS NOT BEEN APPLIED FOR AS OF THE DATE OF THIS RESOLUTION SHALL BE GRANTED UNTIL SUCH TIME AS THE REQUIREMENTS FOR "PARKLIKE" SETTING ARE MET WHEREAS, the City of Parkland Comprehensive Plan provides that it is the goal of the City to have all development to be undertaken in a parklike setting; and WHEREAS, the City of Parkland City Commission has authorized the development of an Amendment to the Land Development Code to require that all development be undertaken in a parklike setting; and WHEREAS, the City of Parkland wishes that all applicants for development permits from the date of this Resolution understand that said regulations are underway and that those applicants will be subject to the parklike setting requirements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That it is the intention of the City Commission of the City of Parkland to adopt land development regulations requiring development, excluding single family residences, to be undertaken in a parklike setting within the next ninety (90) 91 - 8 days. During the time period, from the date of this Resolution to the end of that ninety (90) day period, all applications for development permits filed shall be filed with the understanding that the permit shall not be granted until the requirements of a parklike setting have been met. All such applications for development permits shall be required to comply with the requirements of the parklike setting to be adopted within this ninety (90) day period. Section 2. The City Commission directs that all applicants for development permits subsequent to the date of this Resolution be notified of the contents of this Resolution.
